My Million Dollar Goal - 2nd June 2008
I want to play it risky. I got my eyes on Trubion Pharmaceuticals Inc, TRBN. The stock is trading around its 52-week low ( $5.xx ) all the way down from $21.51!
I don’t like risky biotech stocks, since you can’t really reasearch them. It goes very well, they either get a approval/contract or it goes down the toilet. I like the heavy insider ownership and the huge amount of shares short. That’s enough for me to take a tiny position just to see what happens. I was thinking about investing something around $500 ( yes, I know ) in TRBN.
Status:
Net Worth: Slightly below $17000

703 shares of RBY
1094 shares of UXG

VLCM is good for some quick cash (I have some at 32 and at 18, it’s all-time low) over the summer.
Northgate Minerals is a nice gold and copper play if you’re into that kind of thing. It’s a long term play for me. So is NBG, National Bank of Greece currently becoming a financial powerhouse in Southern & Eastern Europe.
I’ve held Vaalco since the low to mid 5’s, a very small position but a position nonetheless, and I regret not selling at it’s recent peak– I have a feeling management will beat it back down as it always seems to do. Ugh. Still, a cool gain even now that it’s dropping.
I shy away from biomedicals as well, but 500 dollars isn’t exactly a huge gamble. Good luck with that.

Also: I have some pocket change to gamble, much like your biomedical play… RBY or UXG?

twin: I think I will stay away from hope-companies and buy some shares in GASS since it has fallen a bit… Gambling stocks isn’t really my style.
RBY or UXG? That’s a tie.
